Azerbaijani Journalists Visiting Armenia Share Their Impressions

Azerbaijani media continues to report on the impressions of Azerbaijani journalists who visited Armenia. It is noteworthy that last week was a historic event, as for the first time in decades, Armenian journalists had the opportunity to travel to Azerbaijan, while their Azerbaijani colleagues were in Armenia at the same time. Here’s what they are saying, as reported by lurer.com.

The news outlet notes that, in particular, Elshan Rustamov, a journalist from news.az, remarked on the striking contrast between Yerevan and the surrounding regions immediately upon leaving the capital. He was also impressed by the scale of road construction projects. “It seems that during Pashinyan's leadership, more roads have been renovated than during the entire term of Serzh Sargsyan. By the way, Sargsyan is not liked here. When we approached and asked about him, people expressed dissatisfaction with both Sargsyan and his family members,” writes Rustamov.

Azerbaijani journalists were particularly interested in the Blue Mosque located in Yerevan. According to Rustamov, the mosque's caretaker was fluent in Azerbaijani but seemed somewhat surprised to see them, stating that only Iranian students living and studying in Armenia usually visit the mosque.

Rustamov also highlighted a visit to Dilijan, mentioning that Armenia does not weaken its ties with the Diaspora in any way. In several Armenian restaurants, he noticed photos of Armenian-French singer Charles Aznavour. On the other hand, the journalist notes that despite the obvious changes, large-scale projects are still not being implemented in Armenia, and the focus continues to be on the development of the IT sector.
