‘Alraghaci Lyovik’ is Not a Citizen of the Russian Federation, NSS States
Days ago, former MP Levon Sargsyan, known as ‘Alraghaci Lyovik’, who was discovered and arrested in the Russian Federation, has been confirmed by the National Security Service (NSS) to not hold Russian citizenship. He is only a citizen of the Republic of Armenia.
This was clarified in response to an inquiry from ‘Armenian Time’ by the NSS's press center. It is important to note that Levon Sargsyan's case is currently being investigated by the NSS.
After his arrest, there were rumors circulating in the press suggesting that Sargsyan was also a Russian citizen, which would complicate his extradition to Armenia.
It is recalled that Sargsyan was found and arrested on November 21 in the city of Zelenograd in the Moscow region. He had been on the wanted list since October 1, 2018.
Recently, it was announced that a court has granted the request of the Russian law enforcement agencies and has detained Sargsyan for 40 days. He has been involved as a defendant for participating in a robbery aimed at stealing property of particularly large sums as part of an organized group and for involvement in criminal collaboration.
As a precautionary measure, detention was chosen for Sargsyan.
