This is a Revolutionary Change in the Armed Forces: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a consultation meeting to discuss the implementation process and existing issues of the new food supply system for the Armed Forces. The meeting was attended by Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan, Deputy Minister Makar Ghambaryan, representatives from the private sector involved in the new food supply system, and other responsible officials.

“As we agreed, we need to discuss questions related to the new food supply system for our army. Why are we discussing this so frequently? Because we place immense importance on this process. For us, for the government, it holds significant importance for the process to go as smoothly as possible and eventually be established. Let me say that this is, in essence, a revolutionary change in the Armed Forces, in the army, and I believe this change will significantly alter the attractiveness of military service and improve the image of our army—with all the ensuing consequences from that,” Prime Minister Pashinyan stated at the beginning of the meeting. “However, it is understandable that such large-scale reforms also require serious and careful monitoring, so that we keep our finger on the pulse and manage the changes effectively. Of course, this question is constantly on our agenda in discussions with the Defense Minister, and these types of consultations are extremely important for us to advance the process naturally and fit maximally within the timeline we initially set.”

Subsequently, the Defense Minister reported on the current status of the new food supply system, noting that it has already been implemented in about three dozen military units. Currently, four private organizations are involved in the pilot food supply program, and their number will continue to increase next year. The Minister emphasized that there is a positive response among service members regarding the program and addressed the ongoing issues related to the pilot program's services, as well as potential solutions and opportunities.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of transparent organization of the process and quality food supply to the Armed Forces, emphasizing the need to eliminate any form of abuse. In cases of such occurrences, the approach will be extremely strict. “This is an unprecedented process, considering the social component of this program; our approach to the process must be as transparent as possible. We consider this program a priority and must be extremely honest in addressing the issue of providing service members with quality food,” Nikol Pashinyan emphasized.

The Prime Minister instructed to work consistently on resolving existing issues and to fully implement the program within the set deadlines.
