Sargis Ohanyan and Narek Murtafyan to Remain in Custody

The decision by Judge Artush Gabrielyan of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction has extended the detention of Narek Murtafyan and Sargis Ohanyan for another month in connection with the March 1 case, following the incident involving Judge Anna Danibekyan.

Their lawyer, Vahe Yeprikyan, stated in an interview with Tert.am: "The court decided to grant the investigator's requests while rejecting ours. We previously argued that the decision to detain them was unjustified; however, if the court considers it justified, at the very least, bail should be applied."

It is noteworthy that Narek Murtafyan had asked Judge Anna Danibekyan whether she was included in the list of 'squeamish judges,' which Sargis Ohanyan recorded. On September 27, Danibekyan reported to the Shengavit division of the RA Police that on the same day, around 20:30, two young individuals approached her while she was walking from the Shengavit court to Laz street, began to record her on video, claiming they were broadcasting live. One of them, identified as blogger Narek Murtafyan, started questioning Judge Danibekyan regarding the criminal case involving Robert Kocharyan and others and made offensive remarks towards her.
