Ioannisyan on Mirzoyan's Expenses: Comment by One Who Recently Acquired a BMW X6 Without a Registered Salary

Daniel Ioannisyan, founder and program coordinator of the Civic Awareness NGO, wrote on his Facebook page: "It turns out that some people have made a fuss about Ararat Mirzoyan's 290,000 dram bill closed in connection with his birthday: they say 'he couldn't do it on his salary.' Let me clarify that according to the law, the President of the National Assembly receives about 800,000 drams net salary (after taxes), plus bonuses (like other MPs). Moreover, the Speaker of the National Assembly lives at the government's expense and therefore does not spend much on living expenses. Additionally, Mirzoyan's wife, Gohar Abajyan, also receives a salary of 600,000 drams.

In this context, why shouldn't Ararat Mirzoyan be able to close a 290,000 dram bill for his birthday? What is interesting is that this accusation comes from someone who, without a registered salary, has recently acquired a BMW X6.

Let’s recall that Narek Samsonyan, president of the Civic Consciousness NGO, wrote on his Facebook page: "They didn’t see it hanging on the wall; they saw it hanging on the forehead. Do you remember that a few weeks after the change of power, information surfaced in the media that Ararat Mirzoyan's mother was hospitalized due to poisoning from black ikra? Of course, they propagated that news to show the level of incompetence of the newcomers, but later it turned out that Mirzoyan's mother had not been poisoned by ikra, and the topic was closed.

Now, just yesterday, our 'humble' Ararat, who ended up on blacklists due to unpaid loans, is taking his close ones (26-28 people) out for khash (traditional Armenian dish), and in one restaurant in Yerevan, he closes a bill of 290,000 drams all at once. Now, someone tell me that this is fair, and say that an ordinary person living on a regular salary could afford such a thing. It’s clear, isn’t it? Before enjoying the perks of power, Ararat Mirzoyan wouldn’t have been able to indulge in such things; it’s obvious, isn’t it? A person who can’t pay off loans couldn’t even dream of such luxuries.

Now, ladies and gentlemen, our humble people are in such luxuries, and this is so you understand that giving power to blind and insatiable humble folks is not advisable. Once you understand this, Mirzoyan Aron will return to his several hundred thousand dram salary and again become the same modest and shy lad he used to be, while until then, you can starve, and Ararat can treat others to a 290,000 dram khash."
