Fact: Search for the Head of the Football Federation. First and foremost, it should be a ‘svoi’ person

«Fact» newspaper reports that since the resignation of Arthur Vanetsyan from the post of president of the Football Federation, various names for the future presidential candidate have been thrown into the public arena.

Several representatives of the football community noted in conversations with «Fact» that the president of the Football Federation should, first and foremost, be a 'football person', so to speak, a ‘svoi’ man.

On the other hand, they emphasized the importance of having a non-political individual who is not dependent on any power, whether government or opposition.

As of yesterday, information was circulating that the authorities are inclined to see legendary Armenian footballer Yuri Djorkaeff in this position, who had rejected to take this role last year.

The name of another legendary Armenian footballer, Khoren Hovhannisyan, is also being discussed, but there seems to be no consensus on his candidacy.

Sources from the newspaper assert that many are leaning towards the candidacy of Khoren Kalashyan, a relatively less known figure who possesses football management skills and is one of the co-founders of the only Armenian football agency, ‘Legal Sport’. Kalashyan has a team that includes individuals familiar with the football world, including former national team player Karen Dokhoyan.

It is also possible that other names will be circulated and discussed before December 23.
