VIDEO: Tear Gas and Batons Used to Suppress Protest; Human Rights Defender Reacts to Controversial Footage

The Human Rights Defender, Arman Tatoyan, posted this video on his Facebook page, stating: “A criminal investigation must be initiated immediately regarding this video. All verification actions must be conducted strictly within the framework of the procedures established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia. In the morning, I will send an official letter to the prosecution authorities. The process will remain under my supervision within the maximum limits of the Human Rights Defender's jurisdiction.”
