Violations Detected in Various Medical, Industrial, and Educational Institutions

Under the directive of Gegham Shakhbazyan, the head of the State Inspection Body for Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety, the Fire Safety and Technical Safety Department of the Yerevan Territorial Division has begun fire-technical inspections and research as part of its oversight functions since October 1 of this year.

This time, inspections were conducted at the following organizations: "H-1" TV Company LLC, "Jermuk International Pepsi Cola" LLC, "Nork-Marash" Medical Center, "Champagne Winemaking" Plant LLC, "Scientific Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics" LLC, "Parghev" LLC's "Ashtarak Dairy" production facility, "Khachatur Abovian House-Museum" SNCO, "Yerevan Brusov Linguistic University" SNCO, and the Armenian National Polytechnic University Foundation, where numerous normative violations regarding fire safety were identified.

Specifically, it was found that the building's structural elements in the mentioned institutions had not been treated with fire-retardant substances, external fire escape ladders had not been installed, disconnect switches for electrical supply in warehouses were not available, non-standard devices were used to protect against overloads and short circuit currents, air transmission lines had been laid over roofs, fire hydrants were not located on the internal fire water supply network, and they were not fitted with hoses and nozzles.

In some cases, it was revealed that depending on the size of the suspended areas, warehouses were not equipped with an automatic fire extinguishing system, the signal from the automatic fire alarm system was not transmitted to the authorized body, and in buildings of categories "A", "B", and "C", fire extinguishers were not installed within 30 meters of potential fire sources.

During the inspections, a total of 9 reports were prepared by the inspectors regarding violations of fire safety regulations. As a result, 9 decisions were made to hold the responsible parties of the mentioned institutions administratively liable.

It is worth noting that inspections by the Fire Safety and Technical Safety Department of the Yerevan Territorial Division will continue until the end of the year.
