Three Residents of Alaverdi Charged with Theft

The investigation into a series of thefts that occurred in the city of Alaverdi has been completed by the Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. Charges have been brought against three residents of the same city.

According to the information obtained during the multifaceted investigation of the criminal case, a 20-year-old resident of Alaverdi, having reached a preliminary agreement with fellow citizens born in 1990 and 1998, illegally entered the gardens of residents of the same city in November and December 2018, stealing copper cauldrons intended for distilling alcohol along with their lids, causing significant damage to the aforementioned citizens.

Furthermore, immediately after the theft in November, a 21-year-old young man transported the stolen copper cauldron to the city of Vanadzor and sold it, thereby aiding in the theft committed by his fellow citizens.

Additionally, the 21-year-old young man, having reached a preliminary agreement to commit theft with a minor resident of Alaverdi born in 2002, engaged him in the commission of a crime by creating profit-oriented motives through the illegal repayment of his debt. In early January 2019, by illegally entering a female resident's bathroom in Alaverdi, they stole an electric water heater with its shower, causing significant damage.

Based on the sufficient combination of evidence obtained, the 20-year-old resident of Alaverdi has been charged under the 177th article, parts 1 and 3, of the RA Criminal Code (2 episodes), while the 21-year-old has been charged under articles 38-177 (part 1 and 3, 3 episodes) and article 165 (part 1) of the RA Criminal Code. They have been subjected to a measure of restraint in the form of a non-leaving signature.

The minor resident of Alaverdi has been charged under the 177th article, parts 1 and 3, of the RA Criminal Code and has been placed under parental supervision as a measure of restraint.

A decision has been made to initiate proceedings for medical coercive measures against a 29-year-old resident of Alaverdi who is in a state of incompetence.

The pre-trial investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to court with an accusatory conclusion.
