Suspect Arrested in Murder of Armenian Businessman in Russia: Is He Also Armenian?
The Russian police have identified the suspect in the murder of an Armenian man in Novosibirsk this June and located his whereabouts. This information has been reported by the main department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Novosibirsk region.
It was previously reported that a murder took place in downtown Novosibirsk on the evening of June 25. According to eyewitnesses, the victim was standing near house number 1 on Gogol Street when a gray Nissan with Armenian license plates approached him. The vehicle slowed down, and gunshots were heard. The injured man was hospitalized, but the doctors could not save his life.
According to Russian media, the victim was 42-year-old entrepreneur Andranik Muradyan. During operations on November 17, the police detained a 32-year-old man suspected of this murder. His name has not been disclosed.
It is reported that the man was arrested in an apartment in Kemerovo where he had been hiding from the police. “Preliminary data suggest that there was a conflict between the victim and the suspect due to financial disagreements,” the statement said.
Measures are being taken to collect evidence of other crimes involving the suspect in the Novosibirsk region.
