New Details on the Tragic Incident in Nor-Hachn
The specialist from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia reports that the family of the children who died from carbon monoxide poisoning had wonderful relationships.
In Nor Hachn, the grandmother and her four grandchildren, who died from carbon monoxide poisoning, only needed social assistance, as there were loving relations within the family. This was conveyed during a meeting with reporters by Anahit Kalantaryan, head of the Department of Children's Issues within the Ministry.
As previously reported, a brutal and tragic incident occurred in the Kotayk Region on November 16. At around 1:00 PM, the bodies of five individuals were discovered in apartment 11 of building 2 on Isahakyan Street in Nor-Hachn. The deceased were residents of the house: 77-year-old Zhanna Simonian, 16-year-old Edward M., 12-year-old Serine M., 15-year-old Tigran S., and 14-year-old Zhanna M.
“A tragic incident occurred, and yes, two of the children had frequently attended a boarding school, but they returned home on weekends. It is inappropriate to link this case to the closure of boarding schools. By the way, the family was included in our support programs, and yet another assistance was to be provided to them today,” she stated.
According to Kalantaryan, there were excellent relationships within that family, with a moral and psychological bond among the members; it was a loving family.
Recall that yesterday, ArmLur.am reported that the father of the deceased children attempted to return to Armenia after learning of the tragic news. Due to his haste, he didn’t complete the immigration paperwork, resulting in his arrest at the airport.
