Developer Was Not Warned About Valuable Structures in the Area: Hakob Karapetyan
The spokesperson for the Mayor of Yerevan, Hakob Karapetyan, made a post on his Facebook page: "This morning we went to the Dalma Gardens to clarify the circumstances of yesterday's alert. There are at least 3-4 threshing floors in the area, which experts date back to the 18th-19th centuries. The best preserved of them is still standing today. Unfortunately, yesterday one of the threshing floors located in the developer's area was demolished. The reason is perhaps that the state has long refused to include it in the list of architectural monuments, and at the time of expropriation, the developer was not warned that there are valuable structures in the area. There are at least another 2-3 semi-dilapidated threshing floors. I believe they need solid legal protection, regardless of their architectural merits; they are the testimony of Yerevan's history," he noted.
