VIDEO: No Agreement Has Been Made with Pashinyan, Arman Babajanyan
It is impossible to pressure a non-existent entity, and the Public Council has never distinguished itself in our public life with special activities since its establishment in 2008 after the well-known events. This was stated today by MP Arman Babajanyan during a conversation with reporters.
Babajanyan expressed hope that we will truly re-evaluate the role and significance of the Public Council going forward. "If we continue to emphasize that constitutional body, then we should also emphasize what we expect from that body and what kind of communication channels we envision with it. We must place the principle of political neutrality before us as a crucial precondition for the neutrality of that body and try to organize a unified harmonious collaboration between the National Assembly, the Public Council, and the Government," he said.
“Throughout this entire period, I haven’t even met with the Prime Minister; no agreement has been made with him. However, I understand Vazgen Manukyan, as his activities over the last 20 years have been within the realm of agreements with Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan—even at a time when Serzh Sargsyan called him an 'idiot,' he did not shy away from going and continuing activities with him and accepted the proposal to take up the position of the chairman of the Public Council,” Babajanyan commented in response to Manukyan's statement that he and Nikol Pashinyan had reached an agreement.
