Armenian Athlete Killed in Moscow Was a Witness in Murder Case
As previously reported, Ashot Bolyan, a 40-year-old three-time world champion in Thai boxing and a citizen of Armenia, was killed in Moscow. According to the Russian Investigative Committee, Bolyan was murdered on the evening of November 13 on Nakhimov Avenue, dying at the scene near his car.
Hetq.am has provided more details about the slain Armenian boxer. Ashot Bolyan was a key witness in the murder case of Arthur Safaryan, the brother of Tevos Safaryan, known as Kayaratsi Tevos. He had close ties with Israel Sargsyan, who was found guilty and sentenced for commissioning the murder of Arthur Safaryan and subsequently hiding the evidence by killing Movses Nersisyan.
Bolyan previously had close relationships with the murdered Arthur Safaryan and Tigran Asatryan, who was associated with the Safaryan family and had been a suspect in Arthur Safaryan's murder case, although the criminal prosecution against him was later dropped.
