Rustam Badasyan Explains Why He Did Not Want to Continue Working with Anna Vardapetyan (Video)
The Minister of Justice, Rustam Badasyan, has suggested to his now-former deputy, Anna Vardapetyan, that they should no longer work together, citing several reasons. Badasyan addressed reporters today, November 13, regarding the dismissal of Deputy Minister of Justice Anna Vardapetyan, as reported by news.am.
“The reasons are as follows: you know we have adopted two strategies—anti-corruption and judicial-legal. The main person responsible for the judicial-legal strategy is the Minister's first deputy, Rafik Grigoryan, and for the anti-corruption aspect, it is Srbuhi Galyan. In both cases, the necessity has arisen for structural changes within the ministry—modifications in the departments and structural subdivisions.
You are also aware that the law on the representative of Armenia at the ECHR has been adopted, after which two departments have exited from the ministry's structure. Within this context, we need to seek a structure that better aligns with the work involving four deputy ministers. If a new deputy minister is needed, we believe that he or she will have a completely different profile compared to what Ms. Vardapetyan had,” Badasyan stated.
