President Grants General-Major Rank to Armen Harutyunyan, Attended by Minister of Defense

The President of Armenia has welcomed Armen Harutyunyan and Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan at the residence. By the decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Harutyunyan, the head of the missile troops and artillery of the Armed Forces, has been awarded the military rank of General-Major. This was reported by the President's press service.

At the presidential residence, President Sarkissian welcomed Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan and Armen Harutyunyan today. Congratulating him on receiving this military promotion and wishing him continued success and good service, the president notably stated, 'Protect our country's borders so well that no one even thinks of starting the smallest operation.'

General-Major Harutyunyan expressed his gratitude for the trust, emphasizing that he will continue to use his experience, skills, and knowledge for the defense of the homeland.

It should be noted that Harutyunyan was appointed head of missile troops and artillery on May 25, 2017. He has been awarded the second-class medal for 'Service to the Homeland' and the 'Combat Service' medals, as well as the 'Combat Service' medal of Artsakh.
