Levon Aronian Defeats Shahriyar Mamedyarov

The second round of the 6th phase of the Grand Chess Tour lightning tournament, held in Bucharest, kicked off today. Armenian chess player Levon Aronian triumphed in the 10th round against Azerbaijani Shahriyar Mamedyarov with the white pieces. Our grandmaster has accumulated a total of 16.5 points, thus tying with the leader Anton Korobov. In the upcoming 11th round, Levon Aronian is set to face the Ukrainian grandmaster.
