Art Must Not Cross the Boundaries of Morality: Petrosyan
Art must not cross the boundaries of morality. This was the opinion expressed today by the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) MP Gevorg Petrosyan regarding several publicly resonant events.
"Are we forgetting that the so-called art is utilized by the younger generation? The younger generation, by nature, is always more inclined to adopt the negative rather than the positive. So, are we going to dumb down the people, take them off the stage, saying that art recognizes no censorship? And then what? With such perversions..." said Petrosyan.
According to him, one should not argue that this is how things are done in the world, as we are Armenian, and we must not lose our identity. "There are a lot of negative things in the world. If we adopt all those negative things, our people will perish," Petrosyan countered.
In response to the claim that art knows no boundaries, Petrosyan stated that art "indeed knows boundaries, but those who draw the boundaries must master the art."
