The Criticism of the Venice Commission's President and the Behavior of 'More Catholic than the Pope'
The newspaper 'Pasts' reports that the authorities are extremely concerned about the statements made by Gianni Buquicchio, the President of the Venice Commission, regarding Armenia's Constitutional Court, and are trying to navigate the situation to their advantage. In particular, according to 'Pasts', an urgent meeting was held last evening within the 'My Step' faction to discuss and analyze what Buquicchio really intended to convey.
To clarify, legal experts were invited to the meeting, and they attempted to thoroughly unpack the statements. In the end, although it was clear to everyone that there was an apparent criticism directed towards the Armenian authorities in the Venice Commission President’s text, they planned to do everything possible to present it to the public through a preferred prism.
It was no coincidence that after the meeting, the officials began to express their gratitude and satisfaction towards the Venice Commission. They were so carried away by this notion that some even posted the exact same text on their pages. However, this was followed by Buquicchio's interview with Shantnews, which revealed that the thanks seemed 'inappropriate'.
Amidst all this, the behavior of certain 'more Catholic than the Pope' individuals was particularly strange, as they were ready to attack Buquicchio. Moreover, Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the LHK, even made a post that implied that it was Buquicchio who was lacking the authority to give lessons to a sovereign state. Of course, he quickly deleted his post after many expressed confusion, asking if 'the phone had been stolen.'
