Prosecutor's Office Investigates MP's Request Regarding Vazgen Manukyan's Wife's Post

The Office of the Prosecutor General of Armenia has received, registered, and is studying a request from MP Arman Babajanyan, in which the legislator asks the Prosecutor General to take a report concerning the Facebook post of Vazgen Manukyan's wife, Varduhi Ishkhanyan, and forward it for examination under the relevant articles.

In response to our inquiry, the Public Relations Department of the Prosecutor's Office stated that Babajanyan's request is being examined in conjunction with Varduhi Ishkhanyan's Facebook post, considering that her statements were directed at other law enforcement agencies as well as the Prosecutor's Office. "We will inform you about the results of the examination," the response stated.

It is noteworthy that the day before, MP Arman Babajanyan had addressed the Prime Minister of Armenia with a demand to dismiss Vazgen Manukyan. Responding to that request and Babajanyan’s arguments, Vazgen Manukyan’s wife used a Facebook post to call on law enforcement agencies to investigate the source of Babajanyan’s “financial resources, lavish house, and wealthy media.” She wrote, “I appeal to the NSS to clarify Babajanyan's connections with foreign services. I also want to find out how Babajanyan and Hunanyan worked together in Karen Demirchyan's headquarters in 1998.”
