Alen Jan, Fear Every Hour, Enough of How "Daring" You've Been: Former Deputy Minister
Former Deputy Minister of Defense Artak Zakaryan, a former member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, made a post on his Facebook page addressing the current political developments. The post is as follows:
“A ghost is haunting our country, the ghost of populism. In this context, Alen Simonian has tried to deliver his 'authoritative speech' as a supposed response to Serzh Sargsyan.
Alen Jan, I don't know if I'm doing the right thing by addressing your post or not. Because reflecting on your twisted and convoluted words may not have been necessary, but as long as you are a high-ranking state official, remember, it will come in handy. Especially when, as co-chair of the interparliamentary commission, you are praising the EAEU in a meeting with the Russians.
If, as you say, Serzh Sargsyan was able to navigate complex international relations in such a way that we joined the EAEU 'overnight' and also established relations with the EU with the CEPA (I hope you know what the abbreviation means), then you ought to learn something from a true statesman who thinks about the country.
In any case, your government should start thinking from today about what legacy it will leave to the next government. Imagine what you and your teammates will be living to hear your kind spoken of by the youth who have never placed a stone on the state wall—populist and irresponsible.
By the way, consider that many people have already started to speak out loud about the qualities of your team, and can you imagine, the opportunities for satisfaction are quickly running out, and it’s time to face the complaints. This should scare you.
As for fear, you all should fear. Alen Jan, fear every hour; it’s enough how 'daring' you have been. Fear is a sign of maturity, intelligence, and strength. In politics, courage, heroism, decisiveness, and wisdom come with fears that compel one to think and act for a better future.
Personally, I fear that the fate of Artsakh and the security of Armenia are also in the hands of one person who is known to the public for his sole idea of legalizing marijuana.
P.S. With all due respect to you and everyone's person.”
