US Ambassador Summoned to Turkish Foreign Ministry
Following the adoption of a resolution by the US House of Representatives recognizing the Armenian Genocide, US Ambassador to Turkey David Satterfield has been summoned to the Turkish Foreign Ministry. According to ermenihaber.am, Turkey's foreign policy department issued a statement regarding this matter.
“The US Ambassador David Satterfield has been summoned to the Foreign Ministry due to the adoption of a historically and legally unfounded decision by the US House of Representatives regarding the events of 1915, as well as the acceptance of a bill that plans sanctions against our country in connection with the 'Armenian Genocide' initiative,” the statement reads.
