Are You Sure a Meeting Took Place? Avetik Ishkhanyan on the Babajanyan-Hunanian Meeting
Human rights defender and president of the Helsinki Committee of Armenia, Avetik Ishkhanyan, wrote on his Facebook page: "If I am not mistaken, it was in 2006. As a member of the group of public observers of penal institutions, I visited an NSS isolation facility (under the Ministry of Justice), to meet with Alexander Arzumanyan and Ghirair Sefilyan (with whom I became acquainted right in the isolation ward). As is customary, I first met with the head of the facility, Mr. Khlgatyan. After discussing general matters, when I was about to meet with the detainees, I jokingly asked:
- Mr. Khlgatyan, can you provide a room for the meeting that is not under surveillance?
The answer came:
- We do not have such a room.
Why do I recall this incident? Because the treacherous MP, known for falsifying documents and spreading lies and slanders, has claimed in his statement that he visited the NSS isolation facility and talked with Nairi Hunanian for about two hours.
Questions for the media outlets spreading this fraudster's statements and for the 'proud citizens' who take his slanders at face value:
- Are you sure a meeting took place?
- Are you sure it lasted two hours?
- Are you sure what the fraudster MP is saying is credible?
- Are you sure that if the meeting did take place, it was not recorded?
- Why don’t you demand the recording of the meeting from the NSS?
Or is it more convenient this way, or is it how it has been ordered..."
