Murder in Yerevan: Body of a Woman Discovered
The Investigation Committee of Armenia is conducting an inquiry to clarify the circumstances of a murder that occurred on Vardashen Street. According to the information provided by the Public Relations Division of the Investigation Committee, on October 22, 2019, at 01:05 AM, a report was received by the operational management center of the Yerevan police about a murder in one of the apartments on Vardashen Street.
An investigative-operational group immediately went to the scene, where they discovered the body of a female resident born in 1955, which had a cut and torn wound in the neck, as well as multiple stab wounds in the chest and abdominal area.
A criminal case has been initiated under point 8 of part 2 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of Armenia at the Erubuni and Nubarashen Investigation Department of the Investigation Committee. An investigative plan has been established. To determine significant circumstances regarding the criminal case, several expert examinations have been appointed. Necessary investigative and other procedural actions are underway to clarify all circumstances of the incident.
The relevant department of the police has been instructed to take measures to identify and present the person(s) who allegedly committed the crime to the prosecuting authority. The pre-investigation is ongoing.
