VIDEO: Charles Aznavour's Son, Nicolas Aznavour, Relocates to Armenia

Yesterday, Nicolas Aznavour, son of Charles Aznavour, attended the launch event for the reconstruction project of the Friendship Park in Gyumri. The former park, which had turned into shantytown after 1988, is set to be restored as a place for recreation and leisure. The area has been cleared of 24 shanties. The Aznavour Foundation has also assisted families in securing new apartments.

The children of Gyumri gifted Nicolas Aznavour with a traditional ‘hol’. He stated in a conversation with journalists, "Gyumri holds a special place in our family. This is not our first visit to Gyumri. We have met with families who have already relocated from this area. It was impossible not to notice the warmth with which these families, living in very humble conditions, welcomed us and opened their homes with Armenian hospitality. It is this warmth that draws us back to Gyumri time and again. I hope this park's reconstruction will have great significance for Gyumri."

Incidentally, Nicolas Aznavour's wife announced that their family has relocated to Armenia.
