Fact: Pursuing Their Interests, the 'Sasna Tsrer' Seek to Push Pashinyan into Sharp Actions

According to the daily Fact, the meeting of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan with representatives of the 'Sasna Tsrer' party at the beginning of September stirred active discussions and a wave of criticism. However, Pashinyan presented the situation in such a way that the warming of relations between him and the 'Sasna Tsrer' seemed natural.

When we look at the logic of political developments, it gives the impression that after the meeting, the 'Sasna Tsrer' received a blank check from the Prime Minister. This is the reason for their recent activism, despite the fact that in the elections held on December 9 of last year, they barely gathered 20,000 votes, as the public simply rejected them.

Since they lack the potential for trust to set the agenda in public life, they are resorting to extremist and dangerous ideas. In this context, it is not accidental that they repeatedly speak of conspiracies brewing behind walls and increasing revanchism.

Moreover, in pursuit of their interests, they aim to push Prime Minister Pashinyan into sharp actions, which would lead to new problems for the Prime Minister and further diminish his ratings.

It is at this moment that the 'Sasna Tsrer' will have the opportunity to urge the government to realize their dream of holding new snap elections, a topic consistently hinted at by Jirair Sefilian and Varujan Avetisyan.

In addition to being active in Armenia, the 'Tsrers' are also trying to measure their strength in Artsakh, but the recent local government elections showed that they are also rejected by the people of Artsakh.

Regarding the Artsakh issue, the stance of the 'Sasna Tsrer' is that the negotiation process is a trap, and they believe that Artsakh should be annexed to Armenia. They do not accept the fact that Artsakh is a sovereign state and claim that it is part of Armenia.

Perhaps this is why the 'Sasna Tsrer' enthusiastically welcomed the Prime Minister's statement in Stepanakert that Artsakh is Armenia.

The authorities should assess these provocative actions by the 'Sasna Tsrer'; otherwise, they may resort to even more extreme measures.

Further details are available in the newspaper's current issue.
