Despite Ceasefire, Armed Militias Continue Attacks: Expert

The expert on Turkish-Kurdish conflict, Karen Hovhannisyan, wrote on his Facebook page: "The Kurds do not agree with the terms of this ceasefire, which Turkey considers not a ceasefire but a temporary halt to military operations, in order to clear the area of Kurdish forces up to 32 km deep throughout the entire territory. The Kurds declare that they accept the ceasefire but do not accept rules of engagement that prohibit fighting in case of an attack. Furthermore, the Kurds agree to lay down their arms only in the presence of the Syrian government forces.

Russian Rosneft has unofficially suspended operations at yet another oil field to ensure the safety of its employees.

The 120-hour ceasefire timeline, which Turkey does not consider a ceasefire, coincides with Erdoğan's visit to Sochi on October 22, where he will meet with Putin.

According to the latest information, armed militia attacks (which enjoy Turkey's support) continue in predominantly Kurdish areas, where Syrian government forces have not yet reached."
