Aram Harutyunyan is Hiding in Turkey: ArmDaily
According to ArmDaily.am, former Minister of Nature Protection Aram Harutyunyan, who is currently wanted, is hiding in Turkey. Reports indicate that Harutyunyan has managed to remain evading capture due to a certain arrangement.
He chose Turkey as his hiding place because there are no diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkey. Even if he is discovered, Turkey is unlikely to extradite him to Armenia.
It is worth noting that according to the Investigative Committee, Aram Harutyunyan, who held the position of Minister of Nature Protection from June 8, 2007, allegedly demanded and received a bribe of $14 million from businessman Silva Hambartsumyan. This was in connection with the provision of ten special licenses for mineral exploration, as well as for extending the timelines for studies and resolving permits for the operation of the mines in his favor.
However, Aram Harutyunyan denies the charges against him.
