Three Individuals Detained Near ‘Kosh’ Penitentiary

Officers from the Ararat Regional Division of the RA Police in Ashtarak, acting on operational information received from the RA Ministry of Justice's ‘Kosh’ penitentiary, detained three individuals near the penitentiary on October 16 at around 22:30 on suspicion of drug possession and use.

The Ministry of Justice penitentiary service reported that a preliminary inspection of the vehicle driven by one of the detainees revealed two separate packets containing greenish substances resembling marijuana, weighing 2.0 grams and 0.84 grams.

Hours later, at approximately 00:30, two more individuals were detained under similar circumstances. During the inspection of one detainee's jacket pocket, 0.87 grams of a substance resembling marijuana was discovered, and another inspection of the vehicle revealed 0.26 grams of the same substance.

Materials are being prepared related to these incidents, and a forensic examination has been commissioned.
