Russia's Statements on the Status of Nagorno-Karabakh Are Relevant: Zakharova

The spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has commented on the participation of State Duma Deputy Konstantin Zatulin in the "Forum of Friends of Artsakh" in Stepanakert and the reaction from Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry, which sent a note of protest to Moscow following the visit.

Zakharova confirmed that a similar document (a note of protest) had been received by the Russian Foreign Ministry, adding that a current warning has been posted on the ministry's website, noting that Azerbaijan will "continue to prevent the entry of citizens visiting Karabakh," which reflects the official position of Baku.

"The position of the Russian Foreign Ministry regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the pathways to its resolution are well known and remain unchanged. As for the status of Nagorno-Karabakh, all assessments and statements made previously by Russia are relevant. The status should be determined through political negotiations within the framework of the Minsk Process," she stated during a briefing in Moscow.

Regarding Russian politicians, representatives of the legislative branch, and members of civil society who make statements about the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, Zakharova noted that they express their personal views.
