KamAZ Truck Crashes Into Gas Pipeline in Vanadzor, Pipes Spill Into River
A major traffic accident occurred in Lori Province today, October 17, around 12:30 PM. The driver of a KamAZ truck with license plate 34 VZ 652 lost control and collided with the roadside on Narekatsi Street in Vanadzor, striking the ground with the front part of the vehicle.
According to Shamshyan.com, the KamAZ was loaded with large pipes. As a result of the collision, the pipes fell off the truck, with some landing on a gas pipeline and others spilling into the river.
Emergency services from the Lori regional rescue department arrived promptly at the scene with one fire engine, and they commenced the cleaning of the road as diesel fuel had leaked from the KamAZ.
Before the rescuers arrived, the driver of the KamAZ was extricated from the vehicle by citizens and was promptly transported to the hospital by an ambulance from the Vanadzor Medical Center.
