Don't Be Stupid: Trump's Letter to Erdogan
Edmon Marukyan, a member of the Enlightened Armenia parliamentary faction, has translated U.S. President Trump's letter to Turkish President Erdogan on his Facebook page: "Don't be stupid. Don't be a fool."
The letter is dated October 9, 2019, and reads:
Dear Mr. President,
Let's reach a good agreement. You don’t want to bear responsibility for slaughtering thousands of people, and I don’t want to be responsible for collapsing the Turkish economy, and I won’t be. I have already given you a little bit of an example in the person of Pastor Brunson.
I have put in quite an effort to solve some of your problems. Don’t let the world be destroyed. You can find a wonderful solution. General Mazloum wants to negotiate with you and is willing to make compromises that they would never have made before. I am secretly attaching his letter to me, which I just received.
History will remember you in a positive light if you do this the right and humane way. Otherwise, if positive events do not occur, history will see you as the devil for eternity.
Don't be stupid. Don't be a fool.
I will call you,
Sincerely,
P.S. I decided to present the letter in translation, as it is of interest to our society.
