Armenia International Airports to Invest $20 Million in Gyumri Airport

The Armenia International Airports company plans to invest $20 million in the development of the Gyumri airport. This announcement was made by the company’s director, Marcelo Vanden, during a press conference held on October 16, where he also confirmed the entry of the European low-cost airline Ryanair into the Armenian aviation market. Ryanair will operate flights to Yerevan and Gyumri, with plans to increase the frequency of flights each year.

“The company will bring significant benefits to the country by opening new routes and attracting many tourists. Armenians will have the opportunity to travel to various destinations with affordable airfare. It is important for the Gyumri airport to develop, as the government of Armenia is also interested in this growth. By April, when Ryanair begins its flights, a new arrival hall will be ready to accept new flights,” Vanden stated.
