Video: A Case from the Days of the Revolution - Governor of Aragatsotn Marz: "We Will Live in a Good Country or There's No Alternative"

An investment conference titled "My Step for Aragatsotn Marz" is taking place today in the Sasunik community of Aragatsotn Marz, attended by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. During his speech, Aragatsotn Governor Davit Gevorgyan recalled an incident from the days of the revolution.

“The events had shifted to Yerevan, and we were discussing what to do the next day. Today’s Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport Arayik Harutyunyan was updating us on the news. We were sitting in the room, myself, the Prime Minister, and Arayik Harutyunyan. He mentioned that a criminal case was being opened regarding the incident, and soon, there would likely be arrests. The Prime Minister looked at us with surprise and said, ‘What criminal case, what arrests? If we cannot fulfill the people’s demands and cannot help the people achieve their goals, then I have nothing to do in politics,’” he stated.

The governor expressed confidence that the economic revolution would succeed, emphasizing that everyone must understand that much depends on them: either we will succeed and live in a good country, or there is no other, worse option. He also presented his vision for the Armenia of his dreams.

Furthermore, the governor addressed the rumors about him circulating in the media: “They attributed to me jobs that I have not engaged in—taxi driver, courier, etc. This has not harmed me; they would do more harm by saying that I am not engaged in any work but rather that I am loafing around and taking away someone else’s job,” Gevorgyan concluded.
