VIDEO: Major Fire in California Destroys Dozens of Homes

California is experiencing extreme fire danger for the third consecutive day, with winds reaching speeds of up to 110 kilometers per hour and humidity levels very low. Due to downed power lines that can ignite fires, energy companies have taken unprecedented measures, cutting off electricity to hundreds of thousands of homes. However, fires have still broken out, reports NEWSru.com.

Fires have ignited in many areas, and flames are approaching populated neighborhoods, prompting evacuations. The situation is particularly dire in Southern California. In the city of Calimesa (Riverside County), at least 76 mobile homes have burned.

Firefighters are battling the blaze both on the ground and from the air, deploying six planes and eight helicopters, according to Stormnews, citing CBS Los Angeles.

The fire is also threatening the city of Sylmar (a suburb of Los Angeles), where residents are being evacuated. There have been no reports of injuries so far.

In Northern California, firefighters are working to control the flames near the city of Moraga in Contra Costa County, where 140 homes are in a danger zone.

According to PowerOutage.us, 256,000 homes in the state are without electricity. The power outages are creating serious challenges for residents. They are unable to use electrical appliances (refrigerators, stoves, computers, TVs, charging smartphones, etc.), and elevators are not functioning. Stores without power are unable to sell perishables. School activities have been canceled.
