VIDEO: Illegal Boat Cruises Conducted on Lake Sevan

The director of the Ministry of Emergency Situations' "Hydrometeorological and Atmospheric Phenomena Active Influence Service" has abused his official powers by allowing certain individuals to use a boat owned by the service as a tourist vessel without state registration from May to September of 2016 and 2018. This information was reported by the Police of the Republic of Armenia.

The message states: "Based on operational information received from the National Security Service, factual data has been obtained by the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crime Unit of the Police to prepare materials indicating that the director of the Ministry of Emergency Situations' ‘Hydrometeorological and Atmospheric Phenomena Active Influence Service’, by abusing his official authority, allowed certain individuals to use a boat owned by the service as a tourist vessel and engaged in illegal entrepreneurial activities without state registration during the months of May to September in 2016 and 2018. Currently, it is known that a total of 15,000,000 AMD was collected from boat cruises organized for tourists on Lake Sevan, causing significant harm to the state. A criminal case has been initiated, and an investigation is underway."
