On October 11, co-chairs of the Armenian Bar Association's Human Rights Committee, Garo Ghazarian and Garnik Kerkonyan, delivered a lecture at the Office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia. According to the public relations department of the Human Rights Defender's office, the Human Rights Defender highly appreciated the efforts of Garo Ghazarian and Garnik Kerkonyan aimed at protecting the rights of Armenians worldwide during the opening remarks.

They are well-known lawyers in the US who closely monitor the human rights situation in Armenia and support advocacy work. Garo Ghazarian discussed the specificities of the work of criminal defense attorneys in the United States, the rights of persons deprived of liberty, and the responsibilities of law enforcement agencies. Specific examples from American legal practice were discussed, comparing them to cases of arrest and detention in Armenia.

Garnik Kerkonyan provided a detailed analysis of the principles required for conducting legally sound analyses, as well as the expectations for using facts and laws from specific cases in these analyses. The principles of drafting documents presented to the court by attorneys in the US, as well as the principles of filing appeals by attorneys, were also reviewed.
