Road Police Officer Detained on Suspicion of Engaging in Illegal Drug Trafficking (Video)

The police are not only persistent and intolerant in fighting crime but also in the process of cleansing their ranks from criminal elements. The Drug Enforcement Department of the Police Headquarters received operational information that one of the officers from the 5th battalion of the 2nd division of the Road Police was acquiring, using, and distributing narcotics.

On October 8, the officers of the headquarters prevented an attempt by the road police officer to acquire drugs in Vanadzor. The police captain approached a predetermined location in a service vehicle during work hours to take drugs from a man. Both individuals were detained at the Taroni division of the Vanadzor police. During a personal search of the man, packages and a dropper containing substances resembling marijuana were discovered. Materials prepared regarding the incident have been sent to the Special Investigative Service. Circumstances are being clarified.
