Navalny's Anti-Corruption Foundation Designated as 'Foreign Agent'
The Russian Ministry of Justice has today determined that the anti-corruption foundation of opposition figure Alexei Navalny will be classified as a 'foreign agent.'
The ministry announced that, based on federal law regarding non-profit organizations, Navalny's foundation has been included in the list of organizations deemed to be 'foreign agents.'
Non-governmental organizations with such status are required to register in the state registry and regularly submit reports detailing their financial sources and expenditures, as well as the objectives of their activities, according to Azatutyun.
Alexei Navalny, who is a staunch critic of the Russian President, frequently makes high-profile corruption revelations on his foundation's website.
