«Hraparak». Tensions Within ‘My Step’ Are Escalating

«Hraparak» newspaper reports that tensions within ‘My Step’ are escalating. The conflict between the chair of the National Assembly’s Health Committee, Narek Zeynalanyan, and Arsen Torosyan is longstanding. At one point, former Deputy Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan wanted to appoint his protégé, Narek Zeynalanyan, as the director of ‘Gr. Lusavorich’ Medical Center instead of Ara Minasyan, but Torosyan appointed his own person.

Recently, the Mirzoyan-Zeynalanyan duo had an opportunity to deal a ‘counter-blow’ to their colleague minister regarding the legislation for the Center of Dermatology and Venereology. The lawmaker, represented by Zeynalanyan, did not allow the center to be privatized, and the parliament majority approved it. However, Arsen Torosyan wishes for the center to be privatized. His close associate, Babken Shahumyan, the director of ‘Medline Clinic’, has plans for this institution.

But the minister has promised that he will try again to privatize the center soon, and if unsuccessful, he will change the profile and the director, and reduce the budget.
