Yerevan Municipality Orders 9,000 Trash Bins, Currently 34 Garbage Trucks in Operation

The Yerevan Municipality has ordered 9,000 trash bins, which will be distributed soon, as confirmed by Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan during a press briefing with journalists.

“Today, we are already seeing positive changes, but this is not the end; it will get better. Sanitation is just beginning, as until now, we have only been focusing on garbage collection. So far, 4,000 trash bins have been replaced, and we plan to change another 9,000,” noted the mayor.

He mentioned that currently, 34 garbage trucks are in operation, and they plan to have 54 trucks working. The mayor expressed gratitude to citizens for their patience during this period.

He commented that garbage collection is currently being assessed positively, but he envisions a much better scenario for the future. “We have begun recruiting staff for sanitation work. We expect to see positive dynamics in this area as well,” assured Hayk Marutyan.
