VIDEO: Khachatryan Sisters Share How They Killed Their Father
Russian media outlets have released a video from the home of 57-year-old Mikhail Khachatryan, who was killed by his daughters in Moscow, showing investigators conducting a re-enactment of the crime. Footage published by REN TV captures the sisters demonstrating how the murder was carried out.
The younger and middle sisters confess that they approached him from behind while he was asleep in a chair. "She (the younger sister) landed the first blow; he woke up, and then I struck him with a hammer, I don’t remember if it was once or twice," said the middle sister, Angelina.
Injured, Mikhail Khachatryan got up and began to ask questions about what was happening. Afterward, the defendants called the police and an ambulance.
Angelina emphasized that they had not predetermined what each of them would do and acted in a panic. Meanwhile, the elder sister tried to dissuade them and refused to participate in the crime until the last moment.
It is presumed that the daughters killed their father when he attacked the younger sister again. It is recalled that the notorious murder took place on July 27 last year. In June, the Investigative Committee charged the sisters with "murder committed by a group of individuals by prior agreement." This charge carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
Reports indicate that Mikhail Khachatryan subjected his three daughters to physical violence and psychological pressures for years. Earlier today, a photo surfaced online showing the aftermath of an attack by Mikhail Khachatryan on his daughter, Angelina Khachatryan.
At the end of September, Komsomolskaya Pravda published a video from Mikhail Khachatryan’s phone, showing him humiliating and striking one of the daughters.
