New Evidence: Khachatryan Sisters Regularly Subjected to Abuse by Their Father

New photographs have surfaced showing the aftermath of an assault by Mikhail Khachatryan on his daughter, Angelina Khachatryan, as well as correspondence she had with her cousin following the incident, reports MK.

The photograph taken by the youngest sister, Maria, shows Angelina covered in blood. It was captured in March 2018 and sent to their aunt. Shortly after, the cousin saw the results of the beating. He wrote to Angelina, asking, “What happened?” She replied that such violence was a regular occurrence for their family.

“Not a day went by where he (the father) behaved well. Forget about it. Everything is fine,” Angelina wrote.

The cousin was taken aback by the girl's calm response to the situation. He criticized their uncle's behavior, labeling him a “monster.” Earlier, the son of the murdered businessman’s sister commented on a video where the father mocks his daughters. In the video, he strikes the youngest sister for not looking him in the eye. The cousin stated that he saw nothing wrong with this, believing the video simply proved that the sisters did not listen to their father and behaved as they pleased.

In June, the Investigative Committee charged the sisters with “Murder committed by a group of persons by prior agreement.” Under this charge, they face up to 20 years in prison.

It is worth noting that 57-year-old Mikhail Khachatryan was found murdered in his Moscow apartment in July 2018, with numerous injuries on his body. His daughters, aged 17, 18, and 19, were arrested. Reports indicate that Mikhail Khachatryan subjected the three sisters to physical and sexual abuse for years.

The sisters' defense and the public argue that the girls’ actions were of a self-defensive nature and should not be considered premeditated group criminal activity.

Earlier, Russian media had published transcripts of the girls' initial testimonies, during which they detailed their life with their father and the horrific sexual abuses he inflicted upon them.
