Alexis Ohanian Attends Book Presentation in Yerevan
Businessman, activist, co-founder of Reddit and Initialized Capital venture firm Alexis Ohanian emphasizes in his book, "Without Asking for Permission: How the 21st Century Will Be Built, Not Controlled," the importance of taking initiative in realizing ideas without waiting for anyone's approval.
According to Armenpress, the Yerevan presentation of the book took place on October 8. The author was present at the event, where he answered journalists' questions and interacted with readers.
"Many young entrepreneurs have asked me about the secret of my success. I thought writing a book would be the quickest and most effective way to respond to them," Ohanian noted. He stated that as an entrepreneur and employer, he would like his employees to apply everything discussed in the book, as it enhances not only their productivity but also ensures long-term job sustainability.
"This initiative was created during a time when I carried out my online projects without permission. I want people to be more proactive and take steps without waiting for others’ approval. The internet and online tools offer this opportunity to everyone," Ohanian emphasized, admitting that writing the book was not particularly easy for him. "I isolated myself at home for a week without internet access, and during that week I wrote most of the book," he shared.
The businessman mentioned that he finds motivation in the internet's potential, particularly in that a young person with a brilliant idea can share it quickly and for free with people in different countries. "That inspires and motivates me," Ohanian concluded.
