Unemployment Rate Decreases in Armenia

The unemployment rate in Armenia has decreased by 2.6 percentage points in the second quarter of 2019 compared to the same period last year, now standing at 17.7 percent.

According to the Statistical Committee, the number of unemployed individuals during the second quarter of the current year was 207.2 thousand, compared to 236.4 thousand in the same period of the previous year.

It is noteworthy that the unemployment rate has significantly dropped by approximately 4.2 percent compared to the rate recorded in the first quarter.

In the second quarter of 2019, the employment rate increased by 1.6 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 47.9 percent.
