Two Major Issues Regarding Ernjakian's Karas Wines: D. Ioannisian

Daniel Ioannisian, the founder and program coordinator of the Civic Awareness NGO, wrote on his Facebook page: "There are two major issues concerning Eduardo Ernjakian's 'Karas' wines that hinder the development of Armenian wines.

1. The grapes brought and grown for 'Karas' biologically kill our ancient Armenian grape varieties. It does not just push them out; it biologically kills them.

2. 'Karas' is registered as a trademark, whereas it is a method of winemaking. As a result, winemakers using the ancient Armenian method cannot label their wines as 'Karas' or 'Karas-style'.

This is simply for the information of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who is enthusiastic about 'Karas.'"
