Armenian Prisons Will Not Accommodate That Many 'Fish and Mice': Arthur Ghazinyan

In Armenia, everyone is being taken to prison; some are threatening criminal responsibility, while others are already facing such responsibility. This was stated by Arthur Ghazinyan, the founder of the 'One Armenia' party, on his Facebook page.

“Since the 2000s, the opposition has threatened investigators and prosecutors who unlawfully initiate criminal cases against them with imminent and unavoidable criminal liability. However, upon coming to power, these same investigators and prosecutors are instructed to open new criminal cases, but this time against their political opponents. Today’s opposition also threatens to bring investigators and prosecutors before the court, and I am more than confident that these same investigators and prosecutors will be used tomorrow to initiate criminal proceedings against representatives of the previous regime,” Ghazinyan noted.

“As a result, the individuals who unlawfully initiate criminal cases at the direct instruction of the authorities, prosecuting individuals and discrediting them, will remain unpunished as long as there is a political order to initiate criminal cases, to discredit public figures with false and fabricated accusations, and investigators and prosecutors ready to execute that order. And let us not forget the ‘trembling’ judges, but always remember that the exclusive right to voice that idea belongs to Nikol Pashinyan. The rest are being arrested…”

“P.S. Since ‘no fish or mouse will slip through,’ Armenian prisons will not be sufficient to accommodate that many 'fish and mice.' I propose to announce another pan-Armenian amnesty, to release all real criminals from prisons and free up new spaces for 'fish and mice.' Alternatively, we could build new, luxury-class, high-end paid prisons for large 'fish and mice,'” he added.
