We Urge Samvel Fartmanyan to Advise Anahit Fartmanyan to Appear for Questioning: The Special Investigative Service Responds to Fartmanyan's Post

The Special Investigative Service has responded to a Facebook post by former MP Samvel Fartmanyan. In his post the day before, Fartmanyan wrote:

“Guys, you are no longer even funny. You are just a collective sin. Innocent fools who are subject to pardon. Today, once again, I visit the gym. After working out, before swimming, I enter the steam room. There’s no one there. Three or four minutes later, oddly enough, after thoroughly scanning the surroundings, someone enters with the tension and caution of a person who has just committed a crime. He greets me, and I return the greeting. A minute later, he introduces himself as an investigator from the Special Investigative Service, apologizes, and says something like this: 'Mr. Fartmanyan, I respect you very much. I know you from the university... I simply ask you to be sure that there really isn’t a way out for us. We will also detain your sister again. You know everything much better than we do. Either we will be allowed to get out of the system, or we will endure with the hope that the next authorities will be honest, will empathize with our situation, and will hold the real offenders accountable, not people like us who just carry out orders.' Silence. And he quickly disappears into the steam of the steam room.”

The Special Investigative Service noted in its response: “The day before, former MP from the Republican Party, Samvel Fartmanyan, made a post containing completely fabricated content based on artistic imagination, mentioning that an individual posing as an investigator from the Special Investigative Service informed him: ‘...Mr. Fartmanyan, I respect you very much. I know you from the university... I simply ask you to be sure that there really isn’t a way out for us. We will also detain your sister again...’”

Regarding S. Fartmanyan's mentioned post, we find it necessary to first state that the investigator handling the criminal case against Anahit Fartmanyan at the Special Investigative Service does not know Samvel Fartmanyan at all and has never had any communication with him.”
