Murder in Vanadzor Has Been Solved: Armenian Police

The murder that occurred in Vanadzor has been solved, according to the Armenian Police's press service.

On October 4, at 11:55 PM, a citizen called the Taroni Division of the police, requesting urgent police presence at 20 Michurini Street. Police officers from the operational group immediately arrived at the mentioned location and discovered the bodies of 30-year-old Andranik Ohanyan and Gohar Grigoryan in the basement of the building, both with gunshot wounds.

From the same location, individuals aged 29, 26, 28, 21, and 25 were transported to the Vanadzor Medical Center with various gunshot injuries, while 25-year-old David Ohanyan died on the way to the hospital.

A pistol of the "Makarov" type with its serial number erased was found at the crime scene.

A criminal case has been initiated under Articles 104 (part 2, clause 1) and 235 (clause 1) of the Criminal Code of Armenia.

As a result of joint operational-search measures and investigative actions by the Main Division of Criminal Investigation of the Police, the Lori Regional Department, the Taroni Division, and the Lori Regional Investigative Committee, specific details surrounding the incident have been established.

According to preliminary data, at 11:40 PM on October 4, during a dispute arising from interpersonal relations in the basement of 20 Michurini Street, a 46-year-old man fired shots from a "Makarov" pistol towards individuals present during the argument with the intent to kill. As a result, three individuals died, and five sustained various gunshot wounds.

The man has been located and arrested, and he has provided a confession. The circumstances of the incident are being clarified. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
