Attempts to Cover Up the Tragedy Involving 22-Year-Old Armenian in Rostov-on-Don

In connection with the unfortunate incident in Rostov-on-Don, the Russian REN TV channel has conducted its own investigation. During landscaping work, construction worker Roman Babayan was electrocuted by a high-voltage electric cable. 65% of his body has been burned, yet Roman has miraculously survived. He is currently in a burn center.

However, it has been revealed that Roman is not being fed at this center and is reportedly facing pressure. This was also recounted by a friend of Roman.

The Armenian Consulate General in Rostov-on-Don has disseminated information stating that these reports do not correspond with reality. REN TV journalists have also uncovered the following: 22-year-old Roman Babayan was taken to the hospital by the head of his construction organization, who refused to take responsibility for the incident. Meanwhile, the excavation work during which Roman was electrocuted was carried out precisely under the direction of the company’s head, who claimed that there was no high-voltage cable in that area.

Babayan’s friends have reported that on the way to the hospital, they were asked to say during the investigation that the incident occurred not during work hours, but rather during break time. Currently, Roman’s condition is serious but stable. His relatives and friends are not willing to remain silent about what happened.

Furthermore, Roman’s friends note that after the incident, the organization ceased its operations. REN TV journalists have expressed hope that after the release of the video, the incident will finally come to the attention of the investigative committee.
